The August edition of our bulletin for professionals working with older people is out.

August was busier than usual in policy. The social care commission was put on a faster timetable, a major study on loneliness was published, and older LGBTQ+ people were looked at properly in national data for the first time. We’ve rounded it all up, with a focus on older residents who are housebound and easily missed.

In this edition:

  • The Casey Commission speeds up. How will housebound residents take part in an online vote?
  • A big loneliness study, and who it probably missed.
  • Older LGBTQ+ people, missing from the data.
  • Local round-up: council tax relief, faster care for people with MND, and a new group of ministers looking at social care.
